Custom sneaker artist Ceeze remixed the Nike Air VaporMax while paying homage to Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. You tryin' to cop the "VaporWave?" 🌊

The Nike “VaporWave” Vapormax is inspired by the classic Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print by Katsushika Hokusai. The combination of playable flyknit with active air bubble seemed the right balance of comfort and chaos for the vivid imagery of this classic print.

To fit the iconic aesthetic of this print onto the shoe, Sēz started from the heel and moved forward. The back third of the shoe features the “Great Wave”. Sēz also incorporated a small mountain in the distance with classic boats in the forefront that have been almost swallowed by the sea.

For additional contrast, Sēz reengineered the wave to the inside swoosh and dyed the soles for an added accent.
